Effective 2026-08-18

The short version: PeakMode collects nothing and sends nothing — the app has no networking capability at all.

Data collection

PeakMode does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. There are no accounts, no analytics, no crash reporters, and no third-party SDKs.

Network access

PeakMode has no networking capability, so it cannot send data off your Mac.

Screen Recording permission

PeakMode optionally asks for the macOS Screen Recording permission. It is used only for two features, entirely on your machine:

Captures are saved only where you choose, or placed on your clipboard. Nothing is uploaded anywhere. Every other feature works without this permission.

PeakMode does not collect, retain, or share screen recording data. Zoom frames exist only in memory while the loupe is on screen and are discarded immediately. Screenshots are written only to the destination you pick, or to your clipboard; the app keeps no copy, cache, log or history of them. Screen content is never disclosed to us, to Apple, or to any third party, and it is never used for analytics, advertising or training of any kind.

Files you register

Folders you add to Quick Access, and images or videos you add as break-screen backgrounds, stay on your Mac and are referenced only so the app can show them to you.

Purchases

PeakMode is sold through the Mac App Store. Payment is handled by Apple; the app itself sees no purchase or payment information.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the new version will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
